Tasker Timer is a calm, visual timer that helps you stay focused, build momentum, and remain present without the pressure of a ticking clock.
Most timer apps fall into two categories:
Whenever I used these, I found myself glancing at them constantly and calculating how many seconds I had left. The pressure of time ticking down induced unnecessary anxiety, and loud “time’s up” alerts ruined my focus.
I wanted to visualize time as a quiet quantity at a glance. The app needed to be silent, minimal, and unobtrusive on my desk. Running fullscreen hides the clutter. No clock, Wi-Fi icon, or battery indicator, leaving only the timer.
In addition, I wanted an easy interface without me having to type the time. I also wanted a satisfying haptic experience with setting the time, like a rotary dial.
Without the distraction of countdown numbers, entering a flow state is much easier. On low-motivation days, setting the timer helps me get started, and I often build momentum that carries me past the original time limit.
The maximum time that the app allows for is 60 minutes, which from my experience is plenty enough. If I needed more time, I can always wind the timer for the extra time.
Tasker Timer isn’t bloated with bells and whistles, nor is it meant to replace standard countdowns or audible alarms. Your device already has those. It is built strictly for focus and momentum, where a simple, calm interface is all you need.
The app is currently in review and will soon be available on iOS and macOS for a one-time purchase of $1.99. I hope Tasker Timer helps you stay focused as much as it has helped me.
